Nike SB x Atlas "Lost at Sea" Dunk
For their latest QS Dunk High, Nike SB teamed up with Atlas Skateshop located in a town called San Mateo, California.
The "Lost at Sea" Dunk is inspired by the "Great Shoe Spill" that happened in 1990 when a container ship (Hansa carrier) en route from Korea to the United States got in a storm and lost several containers loaded with 61,000 Nike shoes. In the following months after the accident, plenty of those shoes washed up onto the shores of the Bay Area and up north.
Amongst those shoes were some Air Flight 90s (typical Fresh Prince of Bell-Air model) in a white/blue colorway. Those Air Flights gave the inspiration for the Atlas Dunk High with its - from water, sun and salt - distressed look and feel.
We would like to take the opportunity and use the hype around the "Lost at Sea" release to promote and support the extremely important work Sea-Watch has been doing for the last 5 years. Sea-Watch is a non-profit organization that executes search & rescue operations in the Mediterranean Sea, saving the lives of thousands of refugees.
In order to find new owners for the Dunks, we are doing a raffle that includes a donation to Sea-Watch. If you want to attend our raffle and get the chance to buy a pair, this is what you have to do: We will draw the winners from all participants and inform the winners via email.
